Win98SE / IE6 - Some of my saved install programmes won't install, I get the message 'this update requires SP1 to be installed' (or words to that effect). As far as I am aware I am using SP1 (which I assume is the same thing as IE6update.exe) and Windows Update certainly doesn't prompt me to download anything called SP1.

OS = Win98_English
Windows 98SE Full Version (build 4.10.2222 A) Cosworth K7VT2 2.00
Microsoft Windows 98 4.10.2222

Can anyone figure this out?

There are programs that are designed for 98 and xp. Are you sure you are trying to install 98 versions of these programs?
