I have a Toshiba Laptop which continually pauses for seconds, sometimes minutes, then continues processing. I have heard someone say they had a similar problem which turned out to be a faulty graphics board. Is anyone familiar with this problem? Thanks.

I'd try cleaning the lens with appropriate disk...sounds to me like inability to properly read disks.
