To all,

A few times today the DVD Multi drive in this Dell Optiplex 780 that I use primarily for burning CDs would stop working and if I pressed the button or pressed eject in the context menu it would not eject. No lights would even come on. If I restarted the computer the drive would go back to working fine. I noticed that there were a lot of DCOM errors in the system event logs but I am not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Thanks

Could you open Windows Explorer and right click on your DVD Drive and select Eject?

:guitar: Take me to a place where time is frozen
You don't have to close your eyes to dream :busy:
You can find escape inside this moment :smash:
And I will follow

I tried that one time and it shutdown the drive, I tried it another time and it ejected fine and I kept on ejecting and it worked fine. This whole problem happens intermittently throughout the day and a reboot fixes it.
