I tried Xilisoft Blu-Ray Creator 2 2.0.3.1601 to turn a 1080p MKV into a Blu-ray. The results were less than stellar. It fell out of sync in the opening frames, and the horizontal lines of resolution were flickering.

Perhaps I should disable the deinterlacing?

The blank BD's are kinda costly, so I hope someone can help with this, thanks!

Turning off deinterlacing fixed the flicker, but it is still out of sync. The audio plays fine, but the video is slow. Before anyone asks, it does this on my standalone player as well and is not a graphics problem.

Any ideas?

Am I posting in the right forum?

I've been through a few of the programs now, and still haven't found one that will do what I'm trying to accomplish. All I want to do is convert a 1080p MKV to a Blu-ray. Maybe with a simple menu.

*Sigh*

1. Did you visit the link I posted above? Lots of stuff there. Lost of knowledgeable people.

Otherwise if you feel the need for a one click application try Freemake Video Converter. It is a jack of all trades that can open many video types and output many types including mkv to BluRay and BluRay to mkv. It will do a re-encode of course whereas some of the programs on the link at v\Videohelp may be able to avoid that step depending on what you have.

I've only had success with AVCHD and one BD. The one Blu-ray I made took 2 and a half days with AVCHDCoder and I couldn't figure out how to make changes to the menu. The attempts with Xilisoft Blu-ray Creator 2 created discs that were out of sync.

I'm guessing that my vision of being able to create Blu-rays with simple menus in the same vain as ConvertXtoDVD is just not going to become a reality. I think it's stupid, but oh well.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I had no idea that it would be virtually impossible to do something I thought could be so simple.

Try MultiAVCHD.

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=143744

I was actually able to do a small AVCHD video with a menu on my old Pentium 4 XP box, that played on my playstation 3.
But it was not easy for me. It's a little buggy, but it's free.

Also, check out the AVS forum. Someone there might be able to point you in the right direction.
