Hi

I have this trojan virus problem- well i know its a root kit. I am pretty sure it would have and has affected the bios.

So as the same trojan persists it keeps damaging hardware (well the comeputer goes blue creen crashes and says stuff like i installed new hard ware changes and then i have had it completley crash 6 times in the last 12 months new key board and 6 new hard drives (dell keep replacing the parts but are not software experts so they just fix the hardware...not very clever as its probably cost them more than the computer was by now)...

Problem is this: So you have a trojan, you replace the hard drive, how it it possible to still persist?. Best i can come up with is a bios level root kit- is there anything else...

Hello, and welcome to BleepingComputer!

BIOS rootkits do not exist. It would help if you could explain a bit more in detail what actual symptoms you have and what version of Windows you are using.

regards, Elise
