Hello,
I have a laptop which is very slow connecting to internet. My other machines run well on my net.
This started last week, and is used by the wife for general web surfing. Dont know what happened.
This machine will connect eventually, but it takes several minutes or more. This is on browser and direct access
programs. I have dumped temp files and run Super ASW, Mbam and SPybot. ALl show clean.
Ran Minitool box, I have the report, didnt make any difference on connection.
Appreciate the help

Were there any new programs installed just prior to the slow down? Toolbars, security programs, anything that may affect the speed?

The only other thing I can think of to ask is what security software-firewall and antivirus-is on the laptop?

I was going to say that sometime security software doesn't play nice with a system but the only way to find out if this is the case is to uninstall the software.

Please let us know what happens after the reinstall of the OS.

Did you mean to uninstall the anti-virus program, McAfee, and reinstal? Or did you mean reinstal the OS?
