I reinstalled the operating system. Have gotten all updates and installed programs. Changed screen resolution to 1024 x 768. Now the screen picture is rounded on the sides. I looked up "Appearance and Themes". It says it is working properly. Also "no driver files are required or have been loaded for this device." I just want to make the sides of the screen straight, not curved. Do I have to change resolution back to 800 x 600? IT is working fine otherwise.

it's probably your monitor's own adjustment buttons that are on the montior.
look for something like advanced geometry in the on-screen menus.
