Hi y'all!
Why haven't I found this site before? I actually found it a few hours ago based on another thread that included unhide.exe & looked at the author, which led me here. I was a bonehead and I know better but I had one of those annoying nasty ad/trojan/viruses. I chased the darn thing for more than 8 hours that first evening (boy was my bum numb - I really didn't even move out of the chair). Thank the gods I have more than one computer - my desktop & my laptop & have seperate internet sources. So that first night I got to claim partial victory by learning how to change the value in one of the HKEYs to show all of my hidden files.

I now work on it until I am too annoyed to deal w/ it  then I had an unexpected mack truck convoy of an illness wipe me the heck out & I am just getting back on my feet (litteraly)--(just to avoid questions - I had a Category 10/Richter 10.0 intorduction to a Fibromyalgia flare & subsequent diagnosis & after the pain was controlled it left me w/ very weak muscles, but I did manage to get a pink cane & am walking more on my own now -- this from someone who used to be on Army running teams & football teams - yes a girrl). Have been funneling all of my energy on getting to work and doing the best job I can (not up to my usual standards)....so that leads me to this weekend when I found the .exe and this looked like a great forum to join.

I am not around enough geeks at work and don't get to work on others' computers so a lot of my skills need to be sharpened (or I need to get them) :busy: . I want to take the Certified Computer Forensics course/certification, however I am still trying to find someone to finance it for me B)

So how is my pc you ask? Functional, but I still have to figure out how to restore my Start Menu (yes the temp files have been long deleted).
