Referred from: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic415367.html/page__st__15 ... Basically, I downloaded a virus twice(accidentally) and I think I have removed it from my PC. The malware scanners say all is clear; but ever since the BSOD and malware attack, my PC is constantly freezing, and today, it took forever to shut down on several occasions, and it just restarted automatically. My PC definitely appears to be acting odd. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Download BlueScreenView (in Zip file)
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

Are you doing anything in particular when the computer freezes?

CPU seems to be on a warmer side, but I need to know your answer for the above question.

One of the BSOD mentions video card driver.
Restart computer in Safe Mode with Networking.
Use it for a while and see if it'll freeze there.

Hey, well, I'm just usually surfing the net, or opening up programmes and PC will freeze. This problem did not exist before. By "video card driver", what do you mean? I should add that my video recording device, if that's the same thing has stopped working properly, after the malware attack. Everytime I try to restart my PC, it will take more than 5minutes+ at the Shutting down screen, so I often have to force the shut down.

Hello, I've been in Safe Mode W/ Networking for a while now, and as opposed to regular mode, it has not frozen.

That may indicate corrupted video driver.
In Safe Mode Windows loads its own generic video driver.
In normal mode nVidia driver is loaded.

Go to your computer manufacturer site.
Download video driver.
Uninstall current driver.
Install new one.

Hello, would you be able to provide me with step-by-step instructions? I believe I should uninstall the NVIDIA GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce 610i, but I'm unsure as which driver I should download. My PC manufacturer is Intel.

Thanks.

Intel doesn't make computers.

There should be some label on your computer saying what manufacturer and what model.

I can't find it on PB page unless you see another number which looks similar to this:
PT.U05/PV.U05

Possibly a serial number:

The serial number is a 22-character number, starting with the letter P, located on a label on the desktop tower. Please note that Packard Bell serial numbers do not include the letter O, it is always the number zero.

The serial number can be alternatively retrieved on the Basic Input Output System (BIOS) setup pages. To enter the BIOS, press the F2 key when powering on the system.

Please note that older desktops may have serial numbers which contain 12 numbers.

Hey, the serial is:

PVU050Y0048... bla bla, I think it's PVU050, then. By the way, I appreciate your help, this probably seems lazy of me lol, but I did try going on the website, but when I click on support, it doesn't load.

Which Vista version is it?
Also 32-bit, or 64 bit?
