Hello, guys.

My computer turns on everytime I shut it down. It also turns off randomly.

Things i've tried:

Disconnecting the hard drives, keyboard, ethernet cable, graphics card, sound card, dvd drive, fan controller.

Swapped the ram and psu.

Flashed and updated the BIOS.

Only things I can think of doing is swapping the cpu and mobo but i don't have any spare.

What do you guys think?

I want to be sure its the mobo or cpu.

System Specs:

P5Q SE PLUS
Q6600 Core 2 Quad
4GB RAM

edit: this started happening 2 days ago where i assumed it went into hibernation but i could be wrong and it could of just switched off.

What a coincidence I am reparing a computer that shuts down randomly....

Anyways

I believe that your on/off switch is causing some sort of short circuit...

The way to find out if your switch is the problem disconnect it and turn it off... I bet it wont turn on....
If that is the issue you would need to replace the switch..

The other issue could be the M.B. in that case take out the RAM sticks turn it on and you should here: BEEP 2-3sec BEEP 2-3sec BEEP etc..

Let me know if that worked...

By on/off switch do you mean the one on the case? I disconnected it. It turned back on.
I also tried taking out the ram no beeps.

Do you think it could be the cpu?

edit: I disconnected the powersw and it switches off everytime i take it out.

edit2:It does not switch on anymore.
