Hello :)

I apologize if this question is not in the right category. I am hoping someone here can please tell me how to move all my pictures, music (I-tunes) and documents folder from my old laptop to my new desktop computer? Also, please tell me it is possible to transfer all my folders from the Vista "Windows Mail" program (laptop) to the Windows 7 "Windows Live Mail program" (desktop computer)?

To make a long story short, the laptop began giving me the same trouble it did around this same time last year (I sought help here then, too: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic328512.html), and so this time after trying to get it going to no avail, I just gave up and bought a desktop. But before dumping my laptop, I knew I needed stuff off of it, so I bought a used battery for it off of eBay and now it's working again, but I don't trust it to be working much longer and I have no idea how to transfer stuff from it to my new computer.

This is all the information that the first pinned post in this category states I should include with my question:

*This laptop is wireless to the router/home network, and about four feet from the router.

a. yes it easy to do that. If you have windows 7 on each computer Windows 7 has the Home Group functionally which is like transferring stuff at will but if you have a windows vista to windows 7 you can create a workgroup. see here for instructions http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Join-or-create-a-workgroup now the important part you have to have the same workgroup name to talk to it.
