I am running Windows XP Pro, version 2002, SP3 on a Dell Lattitude D630 laptop. I recently was hit with the Google redirect virus redirecting to and others. About the same time a new shortcut appeared on my desktop called "Security Protection". I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes. I ran it several times until it not does not find anything malicious. The problem now seems to be twofold. When the computer is connected wirelessly or with cable there seems to be internet activity happening but I can not access the internet at all. I can connect to my VPN (Sonicwall) but can not connect to my server at work. Also the shortcut is still on my desktop. Not sure if it is just the shortcut or if I still have some thing there.

I have been here before and got great assistance. Could use help again.
