As Mozilla is now my default browser, after running HiJackThis program, I notice that there is no indication that in the log that I am running it (N4 entry). Is there now no need for me to use HJT to look for malware and such? Or is HJT not necessary with Mozilla. If it is, how do I modify the program? I hope you understand the question !!

HijackThis does not recognize Mozilla currently so you do not need to worry about it

You will need to continue to use HJT as a tool, even though it does not recognize Mozilla.
Cheers,
John
