The last week or so, my HP Pavilion tower is experiencing a problem with mouse cursor freezes and keyboard lockups. The HD light come son steadily and I can't shut it off using the power button - I have to unplug the power cable to shut it off. What could be happening and is there a fix for it. I have Microsoft Security Essentials installed.

Download System Information for Windows (SIW free version)
No installation required.

After it scans your computer, navigate to Hardware>Sensors and post all info from there.
