Hi, i was requested to repost in here along with all the necessary logs from the preparation guide. Included are both DDS logs, with the attach file zipped up and attached, GMER log and recent HJT log.

I have a problem with a CSRSS file located in my appdata/local/temp path which is found by Malwarebytes but keeps being detected every time i log on. I also have two CSRSS and dwr running in windows task manager. My computer freezes after about 10 minutes of use.

Hi

Please do the following:

Refer to the ComboFix User's Guide

  • Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

    Link 1
    Link 2

    * IMPORTANT !!! Place ComboFix.exe on your Desktop
  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with ComboFix.

    You can get help on disabling your protection programs here
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • Your desktop may go blank. This is normal. It will return when ComboFix is done. ComboFix may reboot your machine. This is normal.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

    Note:
    Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Ensure your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications are re-enabled.

Hi,

Please do the following:

  • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before following the steps below.
  • They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
Copy/paste the text inside the Codebox below into notepad:

Here's how to do that:
Click Start > Run type Notepad click OK.
This will open an empty notepad file:

Copy all the text inside of the code box - Press Ctrl+C (or right click on the highlighted section and choose 'copy')

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic416247.html/page__pid__2387442#entry2387442

Collect::
c:\windows\System32\drivers\vfvcw.sys
c:\windows\system32\drivers\qidrcjzv.sys

DirLook::
c:\users\Death Metal Realm\AppData\Local\{8755B22E-1EEF-4C01-AD3F-16B61F410235}

File::
c:\users\Death Metal Realm\AppData\Local\Qzuyovot.bin

Driver::
xaerey
qidrcjzv

DDS::
uInternet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:49778

FireFox::
FF - ProfilePath - c:\users\Death Metal Realm\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\6s5l8yrt.default\
FF - prefs.js: network.proxy.http_port - 49778

Now paste the copied text into the open notepad - press CTRL+V (or right click and choose 'paste')

Save this file to your desktop, Save this as "CFScript"

Here's how to do that:

1.Click File;
2.Click Save As... Change the directory to your desktop;
3.Change the Save as type to "All Files";
4.Type in the file name: CFScript
5.Click Save ...

Posted Image
  • Referring to the screenshot above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe.
  • ComboFix may request an update; please allow it.
  • ComboFix will now run a scan on your system. It may reboot your system when it finishes. This is normal.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
  • Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

CAUTION: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Before you read the log, please bare in mind everything I have been asked to do has been in safe mode, was that alright?

Also: In the log, it says 'FW: Norton 360 *Enabled* {B0F2DB13-C654-2E74-30D4-99C9310F0F2E}'.
I don't know how to disable this, however my whole Norton package is out of date so hopefully it won't have an effect.

Here is the log:

Are you unable to boot into Normal Mode?

Please run the following:

  • Please open your MalwareBytes AntiMalware Program
  • Click the Update Tab and search for updates
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. <-- very important
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Yes i can log on to normal mode but one of the symptoms i've had is my computer freezing.

Here is the Malwarebytes log. It found 3 infected files/registry key.

I tried running the ESET but after 4.5hours it froze my computer. Can it be ran in safe mode? Normal mode worked for much longer this time.

I shall try the ESET again and let you know whether it works. Thanks.

The ESET scan managed to complete in normal mode and just to let you know, my computer stayed active over night in normal mode and has not frozen yet.

Can i ask why Malwarebytes did not detect these and why Eset scan was told not to remove the threats, because surely they are still present? I understand you would not be able to see what threats it found via me posting them, but you probably know best!

Here are the results.

Hi

Qoobox is ComboFix's quarantine, so those items will stay there until we uninstall ComboFix, they will not harm your computer in quarantine.

These items:
C:\Users\Death Metal Realm\Downloads\gamingharbor_installer.exe a variant of Win32/Adware.DoubleD.AB application
C:\Users\Death Metal Realm\Downloads\install_Winrar_.exe probably a variant of Win32/Agent.BUFOMRG trojan

ESET isn't positive they are infected, it is finding code that could be adware or trojan related, hence using the word "probably"

so we need to verify the source. Where did these programs come from? If they are torrent downloads, I wouldn't necessarily trust them, so right click and delete them if you don't absolutely need them.

If they came from a very trusted source, then they are probably OK.

MalwareBytes isn't designed to find infected files like that, this is why we use a variety of tools at our disposal so we can do a thorough check of your machine.

P2P - I see you have P2P software BitLord installed on your machine. We are not here to pass judgment on file-sharing as a concept. However, we will warn you that engaging in this activity and having this kind of software installed on your machine will always make you more susceptible to re-infections. It likely contributed to your current situation. This page will give you further information.
Please note: Even if you are using a "safe" P2P program, it is only the program that is safe. You will be sharing files from uncertified sources, and these are often infected. The bad guys use P2P filesharing as a major conduit to spread their wares.
Please see this topic for more information:
Perils of P2P File Sharing.
I would strongly recommend that you uninstall this now. You can do so via Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs.

Hi.

I have removed the torrent software however am having trouble downloading both Adobe Reader and the Java file.

For the Java i clicked on the download button for JDK under the 'Java Platform, Standard Edition' table and chose Windows x86 however recieve the error code 1335 saying the cabinet file 'st170000.cab' required for this installation is corrupt amd cannot be used.

Also, on some downloads and during general use of computer i get this message-

C:\Windows\System32\cryptnet.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original intallation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

It doesn't seem to cause a problem, its just terribly annoying because sometimes i have to lick 'OK' about 20 times to stop it from appearing. It sometime appears around 20 times and finally bring up McAfee update or something. Any suggestions?

Thanks

submit a file to virustotal for analysis
  • Use the browse button on that page to navigate to the location of the file to be scanned.
  • In the right hand panel,
  • click on the file C:\Windows\system\cryptnet.dll
  • then click the open button.
  • The file will now be displayed in the submit box.
  • Scroll down a bit and click "send file", wait for the results
  • If you get a message saying File has already been analyzed: click Reanalyze file now
  • Once scanned, copy and paste the link to the results page in your next reply.

Make sure you have copied and saved the results before continuing.
Please do the same for the following file
C:\Windows\System32\cryptnet.dll
