I am working on an Acer Aspire One and just installed a new HDD. I have installed the OS via Acer Recovery Disc, but it is stuck at the Black "Please Wait" screen. I have tried a hard reboot and tried to open in Safe Mode and it tell me the Operating System install did not complete. Does anyone have any ideas?

Does said Acer Recovery Disk...rely on files which may have existed on a hidden partition...on the original hard drive?

I am not sure, but I don't think so. I have done this before and it worked fine.

Did you try reinstalling on the old drive?

That should help focus the problem area.

Well...did this recovery disk...work on the old hard drive, after you had deleted your previous install?

Did you delete the previous existing partitions before trying the disk on the old hard drive?

Details...are helpful, we don't know any more than you tell us.

The recovery disk was ordered from ACER in order to install a new HDD as the old one crashed.

If that Recovery Disc is new from ACER maybe you need to contact them and tell your problem and ask them to replace that Recovery Disc or install it for you.
