I'm contemplating buying a new computer and wanted to do some research for best options available. It's ok if I don't get a specific link for a product- actually, I would prefer it if I get suggestions or info on what I should look for.

I would most likely buy a laptop however, I would suggestions for desktops as well. I would also like the screen to be at least 15". I currently have a 13" Dell and I don't like it. The keyboard is too scrunched up together and I type 95 wps so sometimes my fingers cramp a little.

My budget for the new computer is: $400-$600

What are the primary uses for this computer (IE: mail, web browsing, programming, games, etc)? Movies (netflix and online), music, graphic/web design, email, web browsing (lots of art, photography web pages),

What software do you intend on using on the computer? adobe photoshop, microsoft office, itunes, i also want to have a tv tuner on it (i don't know how that works but it would be nice if I can watch tv on it), itunes.

Do you play games? If so, what type of games? none whatesover

Do you tend to have a lot of programs running at the same time, or do you close every program when you are done using it? I always have multiple programs running at the same time.

Do you store a lot of pictures or music on the computer?
i store pictures, music and movies on my computer.

Thanks for the help!

What feature makes a computer better suited for multimedia and graphics? is it the momory, processor, whatever else? I don't know much about it.

I guess I want to know what about that ^ asus computer makes it compatible so that I can learn. That way if I want to look at another brand, I can look out for specific features.

For multimedia i would say it would be the Ram(memory), processor and hard drive.
