I was hit with spam from a craigslist ad I was running. I lost all of my pictures and all of my files. I followed one of the instructions on downloading malware, unhide.exe, etc. I have part of my files back and all of my pictures. Actually all of my files are back, some just the name isn't fully there and they do not open, they have the squiggle symbol and $ in front of the name and they open asking to select the encoding to make your document readable (file conversion-~$(name of file).doc. I keep catching the adware zango everytime I run a scan, this is the first time I have checked my email address, since I had to confirm this registration. How do I get my files recovered and then can I still use my same email address that I caught this from? I did have 6 trojans caught also in the malware, they were dropper and fake. I have cleared the cache, temp file folder, ran all scans, etc.
Thank you for this solution and website!
