Hey guys, just yesterday i bought a new HP Pavilion dv7 6111tx laptop.

It contains a 2ghz intel core i7 2630qm processor, 8gb of ram, two 750gb hard drives and an ATI 6770m graphics card plus an integrated one.

Now im having a bit of a problem here, ati lets me use switchable graphics (So i can choose what programs will use my IGP and which ones will use my 6770m)
I want my primary card to be my IGP because i find it runs a LOT cooler and doesn't use as much power, however when i load up games or a video app i want it to switch over to my 6770m. So i went to my ati switchable graphics manager, set it so the programs i want run on my 'High Performance' card. However they are not switching over and all my games/etc do not detect my ati card. They're only detecting 'Intel HD Graphics' and i'm unable to use my ati card.

I know my ati card works because when i go into the bios and switch my primary graphics card to the ATI card. EVERYTHING will run on that card properly, including games. But i don't want that to be my primary card because it runs too hot.
Can anyone help me out here and tell me how i can get my computer to recognize both my cards so i can switch them without having to use the ATI as my main? I have all drivers installed including Catalyst and the Intel Graphics & Control Panel.

Thanks in advance.

INTEL intergrated graphics are automatically disabled when a discrete graphics card is detected in the system. There is no way right now that I know of to access the intergrated graphics on an INTEL processor when a dicrete graphics card is in use. AMD processors do not disable the intergrated core which allows you to use either or in some case both in a hybrid crossfire setup.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
