Hello and welcome to Bleepingcomputer! :welcome:

If you could please go back to your opening post and edit out your Windows product key, by clicking the edit button, that would be just dandy, we do not want people having access to things that are not theirs to use if you get my meaning.

Can you please describe what devices you are having issues with? Are they USB devices or any hardware devices in general?

If you are having an issue with a specific device, please post the make and model number of that or any devices you are having a specific issue with and we'll see if we can get this problem resolved.

Looking through your running 'services' listed above, I see that your plug and play service is indeed running, so what we need to look at here is what it is exactly that you are having an issue with and go from there.

Thanks in advance and I will be watching for your reply.

Bruce.

What is the make and model number of this computer?

I know it has an IBM motherboard with an Itel Pentium 4 530 processor, but your speccy report does not list the computer's make and model number.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your quick reply, below is a link to the Lenovo web site and the drivers download section for the S51 8172 ThinkCenter computer.

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-55830

This page above offers a lot of support for your computer system including hardware troubleshooters, make sure if you use any of them, you choose Windows XP 32 bit.

The USB drivers are native to Windows operating systems from Windows 95 on up to Windows 7, I suggest since you have SP3 of Windows XP Professional installed, you create a SP3 installation disk from an ISO image, that ISO image can be downloaded from the link below and should be burned to a writable CD-R disk, then installed on the S51 computer.

In other words, install service pack 3 over service pack 3. The Service packs do come with a driver package, which includes USB drivers, it will also replace any missing or corrupted drivers/files in the process.

WINDOWS XP SP3 DOWNLOAD LINK
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=25129

After SP3 has finished installing, check to see if your USB devices are working.

If they are, make sure you go to Windows update and choose security updates that are listed as critical updates, because your previous installed critical updates will have been removed from the system with the SP3 disk, which is an older version of SP3.

If your system still fails to work with USB devices, we'll have to look into your system's BIOS and see if legacy USB is enabled.

Please let me know how things turn out and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Bruce.

Thanks for your reply I tried installing SP3 again but it din't work. I have noticed when I tried to update the drivers for the Intel® 82801FB/FBM USB universal host Controllers 2658,2659,265A,265B all updated successfully but the Intel® 82801FB/FBM USB2 enhanced host controller 265C didn't I updated them in device manager using the install from a specific location and then don't search I will chose the driver to install and then chosing the Intel® 82801FB/FBM USB2 Enhanced host controller 265C but instead of updating the controler the PC freezes and you have to turn of PC using power switch and start up again.
Hope that maks sense

Well I have finally sorted the problem it seems to be a conflict between my scanner and plug and play devices if I keep the scanner switched off no problem so that's what I'll do keep it switched of until I need it.
Thanks for all your help

It could have been caused by a windows or some other driver update. Another possiblity would be anither piece of software recently installed is conflicting with he scanner.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
