Mysterious Adobe Reader Black Bars

Every so often, menu text in Adobe Reader becomes blacked out. Restarting the computer temporarily solves the problem.

I've linked to a screenshot of this problem. What's the issue?

Is it just adobe that this happens to?

Funny that you mention it. It also happens to some other programs (e.g. Paint), but not others (e.g. Firefox).

I'm using Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit.
