Sigma Tel Audio HD Codec not working

No audio on my laptop. XP won't let me repair or upgrade driver

Tried numerous times
Windows XP Pro (Windows Vista capable - not interested)
Linux Mint installed, too
Intel Centrino Duo processors
Came with 1GB memeory. Instaleld 1 GB (total - 2GB)
Cable Internet connection - Comcast Xfinity
Norton Security Suite installed
Also use Allume Boost XP

HELP-CAN'T LISTEN TO ANY AUDIO ON VIDEOS, CAN'T UPLOAD TO YOUTUBE WITHOUT SOUND, CAN'T LISTEN TO WEBINARS NOR CREATE ANY W/O SOUND

What kind of lap top do you have, and have you tried the drivers from the lap tops support site?

Dell Inspiron D620 laptop
Tried to download drivers from Sigma Tel. Did not work.

did you download them from Dell.com after inserting your Dell Service Tag?
