My daughter has had this laptop for about a year and started experiencing problems with not being able to get a wireless connection, as of a few months ago. Somehow I was able to get her back up and running by disabling and then re-enabling the network adapter driver - but that's not working this time, and I've tried everything I can find online. The network discovery icon (or whatever it's called) does not show in the tray, and in the networking center there is a red X over the name of the adapter. When I try to connect manually, there is an error message: "There was a problem starting van.dll. The specified module could not be found." I've poked around a bit to see if there's a place to download van.dll, but am scared off because most sites seem to be wanting to sell something (or worse).

Here is the pertinent info:
Make and model of computer - MSI A6000
How the computer is connected - problem is with the wireless connection; if we plug the Ethernet cable from the desktop into it, it's fine
Make and model of Router - Netgear WNR3000
Approximate Distance From the router the PC is if its a wireless connection - at the moment, about four feet :) - typically it's within 20-30 feet
What type of internet you have (Dsl, Cable, T-1,etc..) - cable

Thank you so much!
Liz

Thanks for the tip - I think it did help - but it's clear there are other issues with the computer. I'll be posting in another forum.
But I did want to say thank you :)
