Updated to V 7.5, MSN will not let me sign in. Have tried disabling all firewalls, uninstalling Norton, checked "messenger properties" and ensured Startup type is disabled, tried a system restore. tried reregistering some of the .dll files, tried uninstalling then reinstalling MSN. No joy. I can sign in to the older Windows "messenger" V 4. I can sign in to V 7. with my Net passport details on another machine. Someone has suggested that my "profile" has been corrupted? I had a prob recently where my C drive was reported to be dagerously low, so I deleted a stack of temp files. Could I have taken out something that was needed perhaps. Am now at a loss. Any help much appreciated

Hi Interpines,

I may have found a solution for you. I googled!

From the look of his post, he has had a lot of success.

If his post doesn't fix the issue, please let us know and we will check further.

Good luck,

Figured it out at last. Lest anyone else has the same problem. I resolved it as follows:
On my computer I have "c" drive as system and "e" drive as applications. Both drives seem to have folders for "messenger" V4.7 and "MSW Messenger" V7.5. when opening messenger folder on e drive and selcting the .exe file I would be automaticaly logged in to the old program. However when looking into the same folder on c drive there were only 2 text files contained there. I decided to copy all of the files from e:/messenger to c:/messenger. Now when I click the V7.5 desktop icon I'm signed in automaticaly as before.
