The direction the fan is mounted, will determine if it's an intake, or exhaust fan.
Blowing outside air into the case = intake
Blowing inside air out of the case = exhaust
Usually, bottom and front mounted fans are set up as intake, while back and top mounted fans are set up as exhaust.
