Hey guys so ok i bought new parts for my new build a couple days ago. and i got the asus p8z68-v pro motherboard the board had a problem it shut off by itself after 10 seconds of being on then starts itself back up then loads windows so i returned it to microcenter and i could exchange it for a different motherboard soooooo i was looking at this one GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3P but they didnt have any in stock...Sooo i bought somthing thats a similar price and if i decide i dont want it i sell it on amazon and its this item the ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 rev 3.0. So these are my options tell me which is the best one. And also Can someone please describe whats the difference and the benefits between a z68 board a p67. So shld i keep the asus sabertooh or sell it and get the asus sabertooth? i want a board that WONT give me any trouble at all and that will be great for my system build. Thats why i iwanted the gigabyte cuz it had the best reviews.

how do these look? evga one looks pretty good

That is normal for many Intel chipset based boards that do exactly what you saw. I've seen it on Asus boards where they start like that, shut off and restart automatic. It is normal and ASUS tech support would have said so.

You think that is bad? Some Lenovo servers, you turn them on and they sit there doing internal diagnostics for 20 minutes before displaying anything on the screen. During that period they are running internal diagnostics and storing the results that can be pulled to aid in repairs even on a non booting, no display server.

If you had bought that board from me for example when you came back with it and I asked why I would have explained your misconception. Or you could have paid the restock fee and returned it despite it being good.

Wants:

As many as possible USB3
eSATA ports
Plenty of PCIe slots for add in cards
PCI slots
plenty of SATA ports.

ASUS with motherboard power, reset and memory compatibility buttons.

Support plenty of memory

Don't like EVGA Mobo's....

Probably either will work, however I can't say for sure as what is the "Best" as that depends on your needs and preferences.
Look at the details for ports to be sure they have enough SATA & USB as well as USB3 and eSATA and so on. Also read the reviews from users then decide.

Good Luck
