Hi,

Any help/advice is much appreciated.

System info:
Windows Vista Home Premium
Service pack 2

Hewlett Packard
HP Pavilion DV6700 notebook PC
Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00GHz
Memory: 3.00 GB
Type: 32-bit

Need more info just ask.

--------

First off I wanted to point out that I know my laptop is old and not the greatest, I'm sure reformatting and starting over would be the best move, but I do intend on buying a new laptop later this year.

I have a software program that checks Google Places ranking for a business CID per keyword. It also has an option to generate an excel report.

But when ever I click to save/generate report I get the following error. I'll type it out and also attach image of the error pop-up.

mscorlib
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {00024500-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

I've had some other strange problems too, uninstalling IE9 and running windows update fixed them.

I've also been trying to fix the problem myself searching Google with some error messages.

I can't tell you what steps I've taken to try fix the problem (sorry)

The author of the software says nobody else is getting errors so I'm guessing the problem is on my side.

I also installed/run a program called Process Monitor from Sysinternals.
Trying to figure out if I could spot the error but it's way over my head.

Thanks
Craig

Thanks Louis,

I've tried a bunch of different things but it's all way over my head and I could be creating more problems at the same time.

Almost purchased a new laptop yesterday but going to hold off for a little.

I'll try talking with the software developer again, maybe he'll have some other ideas.

Format/reinstall solved a ton of problems users have :)...and can help determine if a new system is the logical approach.

Hi Louis,

I think that's exactly what I'm going to do this weekend.

Feel free to delete or lock thread.

Thanks
Craig

Normally, we don't lock threads :) or delete those which may be useful to someone now/in the future.

Happy computing :).

Louis
