I'm running Win XP Pro on a 4 year old GateWay T36756 with 2 Gb and Intel Celeron 440.
The problem. I have a USB Maxtor Black Armor 160 Gb drive for backup. I can't access it. I unplug it and plug it back it, reboot. There it is, in My Computer, d:/k and I get the screen asking for my password. Enter the password and it vanishes. 'It worked just fine last week'. Has something gone belly up? I hate to lose all that time and goodies.
MAxtor, now Segate, has nothing in their Troubleshooting stuff that addresses this problem.
Should I back up 5, punt and take my licks or beat the damned thing to pieces with a 12lb sledge?
