Windows update KB2539631 keeps saying it's ready to install, and after installation is complete it keeps coming back to install over and over and over again. I've rebooted after installation and it keeps coming back. Any ideas what's going on here?

Open Add/Remove Programs & make sure the Show Updates box at the top is checked.

Is it listed there as installed?

Yes, it does show it was installed on 8/9/2011... that's my issue.
I get alerted that it's ready to install again.

Well one option you can do is open the installer click custom and uncheck it then hit close it will ask if you want to stop the update from trying to apply again. That would at least stop it from trying to install the update over and over.

...or turn off the autoupdate function, which is probably the problem.

OK, here's the scoop... I had a Microsoft Support Technician remotely connected to my computer for over 2 hours with him running scans uninstalling / reinstalling and he could not figure out what was going on either. So, I just went to "custom install" and removed the update and hid it as well so it won't keep prompting me to install again and again.
