I have Windows 7 on my computer. I have built-in Windows Defender. Is Windows Defender useful? If not, specifically how can I delete it from my computer? Thank you. Murrar

Although Windows Defender may not be the best tool to protect your computer it is useful in protecting any machine that is connected to the Internet and which is not protected by any other program.

You can learn a bit more here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/keep-your-computer-safe-online/

Scroll down to number 4 if you think the rest of the document is something you already know.

Hope this helps.

Windows Defender is a useless waste of resources. I suggest you disable the Windows Defender Service.

I agree with Allan. Windows Defender is no way to protect a computer. If you don't have any other protection on your computer I would recommend installing MSE, it should turn off Windows Defender as it turns on MSE.
