Hi Toria123,

Do you have the free version for the paid-for version?

  • Open SUPERAntiSpyware.
  • Click on the Preferences button.
  • Uncheck the box for Start SUPERAntiSpyware when Windows Starts.

See if that fixes it.
Regards,
Jason

Shutdown problems can be symptomatic of a variety of things to include hardware or software issues, mismatched RAM, other programs hanging or unresponsive in the background, unsigned device drives and even malware.

If using Windows 2000, 2003 or XP, download and try running the User Profile Hive Cleanup Service (UPHClean-Setup.msi) which helps to ensure user sessions are completely terminated when a user logs off. System processes and applications occasionally maintain connections to registry keys in the user profile after a user logs off. In those cases the user session is prevented from completely ending.

Another reason for shutdown problems is too many services running so pruning them with Black Viper's Services Configuration helps to fine tune that area.
SUPERAntispyware adds the SAS Core Service (sascore.exe) during installation and sets it to Automatic by default. Since you don't need the free version to run at startup, you may want to try changing the service to Manual.
