I have a acer aspire 3680. That will only charge when turned off but even then will have only enough power from about 30mins before going dead.
Have replaced the power lead and tried talking real nice to it. Can anyone out there tell me why its doing this?
Thank you for any help given.

How old is your Laptop? It's mos likely the battery needs to be replaced. Will the computer stay on if charging? if not then
I would replace the charger.
