Hi,

A few days ago I contracted a virus of some sort from some webpage that I should have avoided in the first place. Bad on me. I noticed that Google was not sending me to the advertised websites, so I figured I had the Google redirect virus. Using AVG and MalwareByte's Anti-Malware I thought I fixed the problem, I didnt see any more re-directing. Lately I've noticed some subtle odd behaviors on my machine: it's slower (I keep my computer running as best I can usually), Scroll bars in Firefox seem more boxy or antique looking, and occasionally parts of windows explorer seem to look like they were made in the 90s (the boxy scroll bars, weird looking text boxes, buttons without the usual shading or edging).

I ran AVG's rootkit scan and it told me I had a Rootkit.TDSS.TDL4 infection. Googling this brought me to bleepingcomputers, where an admin helped a user named moomoocakes clean his system. Unfortunatly, following his steps did not work as the help was too system specific, so now I come pleading to the bleepingcomputer gods admins for they're help.

Thanks,
HatingComputers89

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
