go to start/control panel/performance and maintenance. click on system icon then hardware tab and finally device manager. Look under cd/dvd drives.

Is your drive listed correctly? Are there any yellow or red icons next to the drive?

If so, right click on drive, choose uninstall and then reboot and let windows reinstall driver.

IF everything looks okay here, determine the manufacturer and model of your drive. Go to the manufacturer's web site and see if there is an updated driver for your model.
