My Asus Laptop is running Windows 7. All of a sudden no longer is booting up correctly. I get a background screen with mouse, no desktop icons.
I'm suspecting a virus. Running a system check and it says it cannot find the OS files. Help!

Can you get into the Windows recovery environment? http://www.petri.co.il/windows-recovery-environment.htm <- that will help explain how to get in there if you don't know how. If you can get in there I may be able to help.

If you suspect a virus I suggest you post in the Am I Infected forum.
