I have an HP laptop and Apple Airport router. A day or so ago my internet connection became very sluggish. It was like being back on dialup. I tried different things but then I noticed that my internet Netflix was not working properly in that the movies were not playing. The message was "poor internet connection" or something like that.

I reboot the cable modem and the Airport router and all seems back to normal.

Is rebooting the cable modem and the router another item of maintenance I should do routinely?

I have to reboot my cable modem on occasion, as well. I guess the connection gets "stale" sometimes and needs to be start over (kind of like rebooting your computer, maybe).

Granted I'm totally speculating here. No evidence to backup my claims.
