The PC that I'm gonna get doesn't support wi-fi. It's an i7-2600 ASUS. I just need to know what I'd need to connect it to a wireless network. Do I only need a wi-fi router or a modem as well?

you need a USB Wi-fi Adapter or a PCI Wi-fi Adapter.

wi-fi router / modem only need if you want create wireless network, if you just want to use/connect wireless network you don't need that router/modem.

yes, the easy one is buy a USB Wi-fi so you could plug it to your usb port (if you already have wireless connection).
if you doesn't have wireless connection in your house / area, you need wifi router / modem too.
