I posted a topic in the malware forum in May. The issue has been resolved. My system is clean. Malware FREE!!!
After re-enabling my CD Emulator, the CD Drive was not immediately detected by my computer, but it was detected after
I restarted the computer. I put in an audio CD, and everything was fine at first. Then I began hearing a static
noise while the cd was playing. I put in another cd, and the cd's information (song titles) was displayed incorrectly.
I restarted my computer, and this time the CD/DVD drive was undetected. Elise025 was helping me with the problem. I
ran a Microsoft FixIt scan, and it told me that the drive was undetected, but it couldn't fix the problem. I copied
some information in my registry and posted it in the message. Elise025 told me that Roxio Creator was causing the problem.
I added a "fixme" to my registry under Elise025's instruction. The problem was still there, so I uninstalled Roxio.
The drive was still undetected. About a week the CD drive was detected, and my cd's were operating correctly. This lasted
for about 4 days. Just yesterday the drive was undetected again. I have reinstalled Roxio, but it's a Dell Edition.
When I opened the Roxio LE Dell Edition, no cd drive was detected. Elise025 told me to update it, but I could not find
a free update that was for an HP computer. However, I do have the program that was originally on my computer on a backup
disc, but I don't know how to install it individually from the disc. Your help will be appreciated. Thank You.
