I have Windows XP but the hard drive I ordered came formatted for Mac.

So far...
+ I right clicked My Computer.
+ I clicked Manage which brought me to Computer Management.
+ I clicked Disk Management under Storage.

Here's where I'm stuck.

The Seagate website says, "Right click on the drive you want to format. Click the file system that you want to use in the File System box." I don't understand what this means. Right clicking on the drive didn't bring up anything that I could click on.

While roaming the internet I saw someone say, "Bottom line: Computer Management on a PC can't reformat a Mac-formatted drive."

I'm rather confused and would really appreciate any help!

Is this what you speak of?

I was hoping to reformat it but the directions on Seagate's website became a bit confusing.

Thank you for replying!

No the Seatools by Seagate. It will allow you to reformat the drive via DOS.
