Hello,

I am trying to format a m2010us compaq presario. I tried Xubuntu 11.04 and Ubuntu 11.04. after the disk reads and starts, it asks the language and from live screen I have tried to run it without install, I have tried install. both give me an error message as follows:

(initramfs) mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed: Input/output error
Can not mount /dev/loop0 (/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs

What does all this mean?

Thanks rburcartjo,

that was a very good find. so I basically have a bunch of trial and error ahead of me... Seemed like alot of people had problems with the CD -RWs. But I used a CD-R anyway. I doubt it is the disk type though. I have ran Darik's and Hiren's on this machine on the same brand disks. I am going to check the md5sum and then determine if it is worth further exploration.
