Allready scanned for some kind of worm with a couple of antiviruses. Also used "Flash disinfector" but my external disk keeps being recognized as a 2gb flash drive in "My computer" and i cannot access any of my files.I also tried it on a second PC and it did the same thing.
I use windows xp pro,i can see its true capacity in the System tools and i also changed the letter of the disk but no luck.Been trying to solve this for many hours but the only thing that i managed to do is for the disk icon to be shown now as disk and not as a removable flash disk but still in "My computer" it is shown as a 2gb thing instead of 600gb and with no access to my files.

Can you unplug it, reboot, then plug it back in again.

Does it require any special software? Can you provide us the model number?

Download the Data Life Guard Tools and perform a test on the drive.

You may have to remove the device in Device manager.

When i click on properties of my external hard drive in that LifeGuard diagnosis program it says on the bottom: Volume(s) contained in this drive and it has that 2gb drive that shouldnt exist in the first place for god's shake, does this give any more clues of how to fix?
