Can't connect to network

We are not able to join the wireless network on a macbook or iphones etc.. What could be the problem? Error message is "connection timeout" or can't connect to network


Make and model of computer: Macbook (air or pro not sure)

How the computer is connected (wireless or wired):wireless

Make and model of Router: D-Link DI-624

Approximate Distance From the router the PC is if its a wireless connection: doesn't connect at any distance

What type of internet you have (Dsl, Cable, T-1,etc..): Cable modem
Lastly
Please download MiniToolBox To your desk top and run it.

Checkmark following checkboxes:

* Report IE Proxy Settings
* List content of Hosts
* List IP configuration
* List last 10 Event Viewer log
* List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

First of THANK YOU for following directions it makes my job so much easier :thumbup2:

From the Macbook are you able to Ping the router? In the network utility for the network address to ping enter 192.168.0.1 and set it to ping 4 times
  • Go to the spotlight search and type “Network Utility”
  • You will see one result in the Applications section, which is the Network Utility App.

  • Select that and then you would see the Utility with loads of sections and options. Go to the Ping section.

  • There you can see the box where you can ping any web address or IP address to ping their domain servers. You can also set it for any limited number of pings or unlimited number of pings.
  • And while the pinging process is going on, you can stop the process anytime in middle
