Is their a function to sequence the folders in favorites ? I do not see it in Organize.
I imported favorites from my old machine to favorites on new machine,
but they are tacked on the end of existing ones, and even they are not
in any sequence.

When you open Favorites you can drag and drop the entries to where you want them to be.

If you have a lot this could get tedious.

Maybe someone else will have another idea for you.

You can open Favorites and Right click anywhere within the list and select Sort by Name. I keep mine in individual folders (computers, graphics, garden, etc.) It is time-consuming when first setting up this way but sure worth it when you're looking for a particular Favorite.

Thanks Tulsarose. I would never have thought to do that. You would think MS would have put that under the organize function !

As with all things Microsoft, there are probably other work-arounds but I found this one to be the best for me. Even after I add a Favorite to a particular folder category, I keep the list within that folder sorted by name.

Of course, I also Rename the links to a short, easily identifiable name. When I added this link to Favorites: http://www.fox23.com/default.aspx, I renamed it Fox 23.

I am a firm believer in the old K.I.S.S. method. :thumbup2:

In my younger years (long long time ago) I taught Computer Programming. K.I.S.S. was always at the top of the chalk board ! And I do the same as you; folders & short urls...And WOW, now I have them in Order !

When I bought a new tower, the young tech that transferred everything from the old one to the new one said he thought I was just a tad overly organized. I think that was his polite way of saying I am anal retentive. My Documents, My Pictures, etc. are all setup the same way. Hmmm, maybe I am AR. lol!

I'm glad you got yours all organized. It's a pleasure to have been of some help.

I have my favorites organized in folders. And I have had my other folders, files, and desktop arranged the same way in every computer I have had. I think it boils down to what we are familiar with, habit, and what we've been seeing for a long time. It throws me off when my desktop icons are not where I want them to be.
