Hi there

I have a pretty old (4 years) desktop pc which despite regular defrag and system cleanups has gotten slower lately.
I have tidied the startup to just a few items ( dlsagent, avgnt, qttask, groovemonitor, ctfmon & windows search)which I think are all essential, or low maintenance. When I check my processes however, even when I am just using email, I seem to have ieexplore.exe showing 3 times (166,000kb, 17,000 kb and 9,000 kb) plus explorer at 17,000kb.
Is this right, or do I have spyware etc hiding ?

Cheers

Do you have Interent Explorer set to open new tabs in a separate process?

Please disregard my previous question - that would only be the case for links opened from outside programs. Are you using IE8 by any chance?

Then your situation is perfectly normal. IE8 will open new tabs in separate processes - this is by design. Depending on how you look at it, it's a feature or an annoyance :)
