Hello,

I am running a newly installed (i month) Windows 7 64-bit system and I have made sure all protection is updated and here I am again with that ad thingy...just one ad but it started last week with a "bing bing" sound coming through my laptop and I thought it was some hacker knocking on my door. I remember I did download a program that got rid of those ads.....a funny blue carpenter man icon. I forget what it is. I will need to act soon I think.

I don't recall a Microsoft Fix-it that removes ads...

FWIW, I suspect malware/ virus involved.

I would run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (malwarebytes.org). Install it, and run a full scan. Delete any infections found.

If this doesn't fix it, I would suggest moving this thread to the virus removal forums.
