Hi.
This one has nearly beaten me but basically my wife's Acer 5003 was infected with a virus so, as the machine had nothing special on it I performed a reinstall of XP using the built in eRecovery system. Everything is fine except IE still redirects to various sites (usually after a yahoo search).
I've done the reinstall again but still the same, even with XP updates added before using IE.
I can only assume that either 1) some part of the C drive that doesn't get wiped during the reinstall has the virus, or 2) the hidden reinstall partition has the virus or 3) the problem lies elsewhere eg router DNS but unlikely.
Any help appreciated,
Dean.
