can't browse web after malware removal

After removing a nasty fake av Trojan.gen which had port 8081 opened and set up proxy server, I now cannot browse the Internet...or ping beyond the router. I have run winsock fix...no joy. I wnet to IE>Internet Options>Connection ran the setup wizard and checked LAN settings...use proxy server was checked and I unchecked it...still no joy. Suggestions please.Thanks.

Good news (I hope)!! After I had been gone for about four hours I checked aand the internet had started working.
