hi,i'm knew to bleepingcomputer.com and i'v probably posted this in the wrong forum.I'v had a pc for a few years now,but some how or other, i always end up killing it and having to get my mate to format and rebuild it.LoL. but i lose all my stuff everytime.so i was hoping someone might be able to help me fix it myself this time.
everytime i put a disc in the drive, quicktime install wizard starts up,then crashes my pc if i dont select start.
i have tried removing it from start up registry, from add/remove programmes.i have run numerous spyware, malware, trojan, worm etc.. removal programmes and it still wont go away.i got it when i installed a real time player.

many thanks

Something probably got corrupted when you were trying to uninstall quicktime. I would try reinstalling it and then go to start/all programs/quicktime and select uninstall quicktime. That should clean things up for you.

Uninstall quicktime, and install Quicktime Alternative.

It doesnt auto start and its alot more flexible than the normal quicktime.

cheers!! installed it again then uninstalled it. i didn't want quicktime player in the first place,so i guess it installed itself when i downloaded realplayer.
that seems to be my favourite trick for killing my pc,install one programme then get about another 5 that i don't want. LoL
