So about a month ago I got the XP recovery virus. After I removed it I was left with a redirecting virus. Whenever I click on a search link in google I get redirected to some weird sites. Avira, SuperAntispyware, Malwarebytes, Gmer, TDSSkiller, and Mcafee stinger did not find anything. I recently downloaded Avast. It found maybe 3 files. They were volsnap.sys, and Avast said that they were rootkits. I deleted them but I still get redirected. I am currently running a second full system scan. What can I do to stop this rootkit?

I've asked a mod to move this to the appropriate forum. Please wait for a malware specialist to respond.

Do you wish to complete the topic at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic402158.html/page__p__2280392#entry2280392 ?

I can just move this post to that topic...but I believe that you need to create requested logs and post in the Malware Removal Logs forum.

If you want to start a MRL topic, follow the suggestions at Preparation Guide, Before Using Malware Removal Tools and Requesting Help - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic34773.html , taking care to post in forum directed to in the Prep Guide.
