So after at least half a year of not having this problem, it seems the google redirect virus has infected me once more. And I figured since you guys were the ones who were able to help me kill it last year, I'd look for help again (thanks so much!)

Besides this, AVG (which a friend suggested since Malwarebytes hasn't noticed any viruses in the past few months even after being updated with the latest components) is currently nonstop bleeping on my screen about threats being detected.

At least, this time around, I'm aware that over half of these (or most of the problem itself, really), is coming from viruses contained in ads on deviantart.com (since I didn't have any problems until I decided to revisit this website), which is known for notoriously leaving ads unscanned and threat-filled. It seems that I won't be venturing there ever again.

Anyways, here are the DDS logs:

============= FINISH: 0:55:42.92 ===============

(So I'm aware we shouldn't bump our own topics, but I wanted to give an update as to what's going on).

AVG seemed to be freaking out because of all these random .exe's that wanted to go off, and each time I attempted to delete my temp folder, there was always one or two that said they were open in other programs which I could not delete. After that happened, I ran full scans on both Malwarebytes and TDSSKiller, both of which found nothing. So I decided one more program I had been referred to, I would try before losing my patience.

I downloaded Avast! and literally, every two minutes, it was asking what I should do with a 0.8314825382306145.exe located in my temp files that was apparently constantly trying to run itself. Also, searching anything on google, without even clicking the sites, caused avast! to alert me with "malicious site detected" under the name of zgdag.com (or something very similar. It was 2 am so I don't remember all the little details). At that point, I was pretty fed up it and decided to do something I really didn't think would work, since it had never worked in the past when attempted. I system restored to 3 weeks ago.

Since then, after redownloading avast! (since I didn't have it before), I haven't had any alerts to stop unwanted programs running nor malicious threats detected on any google search. Besides that, nothing has redirected me so far and it also appears 0.8314825382306145.exe no longer appears in my temp folder. Running a full scan with avast didn't turn up anything as well.

I don't know if this means I'm in the clear yet, but everything is looking pretty okay. If there's anything I should do at this point/if you want me to run more logs, I'd be more than happy to :)

Somethings to remember while we are working together.

  • Do not run any other tool untill instructed to do so!
  • Please Do not Attach logs or put in code boxes.
  • Tell me about any problems that have occurred during the fix.
  • Tell me of any other symptoms you may be having as these can help also.

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

Click on the Watch Topic Button and select Immediate Notification and click on proceed, this will help you to get notified faster when I have replied and make the cleaning process faster.

In order for me to see the status of the infection I will need a new set of logs to start with.
